One of America’s leading travel experts will speak to an audience in Tri-City next month about how the COVID pandemic will change visiting Europe.

The Columbia Basin Badger Club is hosting an online presentation with travel guru Rick Steves at its noon meeting on Jan. 20.

It has a best-selling guidebook series, a popular public television show, a weekly public radio show, and a syndicated travel column. He started his business, Rick Steves’ Europe, in Edmonds, Washington in 1976.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our lives in many ways, but not the least of all how it has impacted our ability to enjoy overseas travel,” said Columbia Basin Badger. Club.

“As conditions begin to return to normal, Steves says the future of travel – like many other things – will likely be different.”

An example is that old guides may be outdated because businesses have closed.

Register for the presentation on the club’s website, columbasinbadgers.com. The event is free for members and $5 for others.
