European travel agents make Greece their “preferred destination” for 2022

ECTAA, the umbrella organization for European travel agents and tour operators, has signed an agreement with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) making Greece its preferred destination for 2022, the association said this week.

As part of this agreement, ECTAA will promote Greece as a preferred travel destination over the next 12 months to its 70,000 member travel agents and tour operators in Europe.

In this direction, ECTAA will bring together European travel agents and tour operators with local destination management companies and other partners.

According to ECTAA, Greece’s main winning points are safety, warm hospitality, stunning coastlines, stunning islands, delicious cuisine and high quality tourist infrastructure – all year round.

“AllYouWantIsGreece will become familiar to many European travelers,” ECTAA said in a statement.

Among others, the actions until the end of the year include positioning Greece as an attractive and safe tourist destination, highlighting the efforts of Greek tourist service providers to adopt sustainable and innovative initiatives, as well as as the organization of webinars for travel agents and tour operators. in the first two weeks of May to be officially announced in the coming days.

In the meantime, ECTAA will also hold its bi-annual meeting in November in Crete, where national delegates can experience Greece first-hand beyond its summer season and also explore the possibility of holding future congresses in Greece.

“Despite the current uncertainties, the tourism sector and travelers around the world are eagerly awaiting the return of travel. As ECTAA’s preferred destination for 2022, Greece’s safety and proximity as a destination, the diversity and quality of its tourism offerings, and certainly its breathtaking nature, unique heritage and gastronomy will be at the center of our promotional efforts,” said Eric Drésin, ECTAA Secretary General.

Greece was also named an ECTAA Preferred Destination in 2020. Additionally, in 2020 the Association commended Greece for successfully restoring consumer confidence and opening up to tourists amid the coronavirus pandemic.
